Ashlesha Bali Homa is a ritual performed to destroy the ill effects caused by the serpent’s curse. For this particular Homa, a mandala or rangoli in the form of a serpent was drawn. Even as we are born, we carry along with us certain Karmas and bondages of previous lives and those of our ancestors as well. The Ashlesha Bali Homa helps to negate and destroy all such misdoings from our past and promote a healthy, happy and a holy life.

The Navagrahas or the nine planets are the ones which provide the seven Dhatus (tissues) to the human body made up of five elements. These five elements provide the energy and dynamism to the body, which otherwise would have been purposeless. Any difference in the movement of the Navagrahas, makes a difference in the activity of the body and affects our day to day life. Though the Navagrahas are many light years away from earth, they should have a positive effect in our lives. This was the aim of the Navagraha Homam which was performed to appease the Navagrahas and win the grace of the Divine.
