Sai Baba – The Living presence – Father Charles Ogada

When I was told, in 2014, that Sai Baba was manifesting in the Subtle Body in the hallowed hills of Muddenahalli, I went to experience for myself the truth. During an interview, I knew spontaneously that He was the same Living Presence that had always been with me since my early childhood.

For the sake of Divine Mother, be ready to sacrifice anything – Summary of Divine Discourse on 28 August 2016

That child whose finger the mother held and helped walk, today it is holding the hand of Mother and taking the Mother forward. What greater pride can a parent have than to know and feel proud that her own children have grown up now to support them? All should be like this. All children should be like this. You go, learn many things from many places, but come and serve your country. If we fail in our towards this, there is no greater sin.

Krishna Janmashtami Celebrations – Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli – August 25, 2016

Karshayati Iti Krishna – the one who attracts is Krishna, it is said. Krishna is the embodiment of pure, unsullied Love and it is this that attracts all of His creation to Him. With Bhagawan in the midst of all His devotees and students at the Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutham, Muddenahalli was verily Brindavan, where all gathered to catch a glimpse of their Sai Kanhaiya! The festival of Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated here at Sathya Sai Grama on 25 August 2016 with utmost fervor and joy.

The True Celebration of Krishna Janmashtami – Summary of Divine Discourse on 25 August 2016

Krishna gave the promise to the world: When devotees think of Krishna all the time, incessantly without thinking of anything else, He will look after the welfare of such devotees, Yogakshema. But devotees don’t understand this precondition and want only the reward. That is not possible. When you do both – love Krishna and serve Krishna – then you will reach the goal.

Proof of God’s presence is in His actions

When we are in crisis and distress, it is only God and God alone, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who will come to our rescue. Draupadi appealed to Krishna. But did you know Krishna never appeared there? Swami went on to explain this beautifully. While in the films these days, this episode is shown as if Krishna appeared on some staircase, lifting up His hand and sari materialises from His palm and clothes Draupadi. Nothing like that actually happened. Nobody saw Krishna. Even Draupadi did not see Krishna. But everybody saw that her sari became inexhaustible.

When the Indweller revealed Himself

Both my brother and I experienced tremendous joy and were wonder struck at some of the interesting life lessons that were taught and discussed there. The explanation of SMART Goals – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound and the rich, spiritually-significant statement – I to We to He – influenced me immensely.

Develop True Faith – Summary of Divine Discourse on 21 August 2016

The one, which cannot be described in words and cannot be understood by the mind, how can we try to describe or experience Him through these limited faculties? So keep all your logic, all your rationale, all your arguments outside.  And come with an open mind. He is omnipotent, He is capable of anything. He is omnipresent, He is there everywhere. He is omniscient, He knows everything. Therefore, He does as He pleases.

Swami proudly stated that His devotees in Fiji had made Him happy for they had put into practice the four stage progression of Swami’s mission starting from the individual to family, from family to society and from society to the Nation.

Listening to the Glory of God leads to Liberation – Summary of Divine Discourse on 18 August 2016

To attain liberation, it is very important to have the company of the noble because only in good company you come across good things. If you change the company, you will change and if you have changed, your company will also change.

Who is a true Bharatiya? – Summary of Divine Discourse on 15 August 2016

It is not enough to have won external freedom. We will gain inner freedom only when we control our senses and mind, sacrifice the evil qualities and serve others with compassion and love. We are still slaves to our senses and mind, and therefore are selfish and self-interested. We can’t call ourselves free till we conquer the enemy of selfishness, which is within us.

Follow your heart and not the mind

Hrudaya Dharma is more important than the logic of the mind. Consider the cases of Bheeshma in Mahabharata and Vibheeshana in Ramayana. Bheeshma, in spite of being fully aware of Dharma and Adharma, chose to side the Kauravas. Vibeeshana, on the other hand, followed Hrudaya Dharma and joined the side of Rama where Dharma lay.

Divine Visit – Kuala Lampur, Malaysia – August 10, 2016

Swami’s discourse to His beloved Malaysian devotees that evening was based on the theme of Truth. “World is a shadow of truth. If one runs behind the shadow one will not get anything, as the shadow changes its size and shape. But if one gets God, one will get the world too.” Swami said people in Malaysia realise this, which was evident from the fact that so many youth had turned up that evening.

Divine Visit – Ubud, Indonesia – August 09, 2016

Swami began by describing the three aspects of divinity – Sat, Chit, Ananda. He said the joy all the participants had experienced the past two days at the Meet was because they were in the presence of divinity, and this divinity came from within themselves. He asked “But how do you retain this joy and feeling of being one with God?” It is in this context that Bhagawan lovingly gave the Sanjeevini Nine Point Sadhana Plan and explained each of the nine steps in great detail.

Divine Visit – Ubud, Indonesia – August 08, 2016

Swami said man should learn the knowledge that will give us liberation. Everyone (youth assembled) is a flower that looks different but when they come together they become a bouquet offered to the Lord. Each had a role in the mission of Swami. “Key to one’s happiness is with you, not with others. Practice what Swami has said. By looking at the food on the plate, it will not satiate your hunger. You have to eat and only then will your hunger be satisfied.” Bhagawan reminded the youth that they are lions not cats,as they have emanated from the Lion (Swami)! “Believe in My words and half the work is done. We are not humans trying to be divine, we are divine who are trying to stay human!”

Bhaktodharaka Sai

By the time my family returned home, I could see that shock had set in. While they tried to gather their wits, the one question that lingered in all our minds was why it had happened to them! My mother was crying out to Swami, and I could see that they were all visibly upset by the incident.

Divine Visit – Bali, Indonesia – August 07, 2016

Mind, Swami said, is like drunk driver who is drunk on ego and attachment. Speaking of the kind of relationships that people have with God, Swami said, many have a transnational relationship with God with the goal of fulfilling one desire after another. Drawing similarity to the situation of the shepherd who found a diamond and not realising its value, ties it around the neck of his favourite goat.
