When does one graduate from Swami’s school? – Divine Discourse Summary – Navaratri Celebrations – October 07, 2019 (Day 9)

Anybody asks Me, I always tell them, if they ask, “Are you God?” I ask them back, “Are you not?” Because that is the truth. The more we believe in this truth, the more we become the truth. And the more we become the truth, we experience the truth inside, outside and everywhere. All actions must be undertaken to purify one’s own self. It is only in this purification can we realise who we truly are. These festivities, celebrations, all these festivals that are observed here are just ways and means to remind ourselves of who we truly are because often lost in the day to day activities, we forget who we truly are.

All the children must make best use of this opportunity not just to learn the subjects that are needed for their daily living, but they must also learn this truth of life who they truly are. My graduation completes only when you become God. Believe that you are Divine. Then your thoughts, your words, your actions everything will become Divine. You will think in a Divine way, speak in a Divine ways, you will act in a Divine way. The most important education is to realise that you are none other than Divinity itself. And that is the education that we must strive for. I always tell, the first thing that we must infuse in the children is self-confidence that you can; telling them you can’t is the worst sin that teachers or elders can make. The best thing you can say is, “Yes, you can.” The child may or may not be able to do as much but then definitely he or she will do little better than what he or she was capable of. Tell ‘Yes, you can,’ and then advise them, guide them how they can.

It is not the work of one person. When everyone comes together, this happens. Devotees are there, they sacrifice so much to build these institutions; the government, with their support in the form of permissions etc. all this happens; and then there are teachers, educators, they sacrifice and serve so much to bring the children up. Lot of sacrifice teachers make for the sake of the children. Then, of course, above all, the children themselves. They put much effort. As you said, it is out of devotion. Only when you are in constant touch with God, everything that you do becomes more than what you are capable of. You exceed, you excel yourself. This is what is happening in these campuses. Once again the Gurukula system is finding its place in the modern system of education. Once again we are listening to Vedas and Upanishads in our campuses. This is golden age. When you all become like Svarna, when you all become golden, the age becomes golden; when we all become Divine, the world becomes heaven. There is no other way if we want to transform the world.
