Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, on the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima on 31st July 2015, formed Sri Sathya Sai Vaidya Vrinda, a congregation of individuals working in the field of healthcare. It is a forum for doctors, nurses, medical representatives, counselors, and other volunteers working in the field of medicine to come together, share their knowledge and help each other serve society with greater fervor and zeal.
Bhagawan has often stressed that doctors, nurses and volunteers must infuse courage in the patients by being compassionate and radiating love in their interactions, since patients and their families would be under tremendous mental pressure. Swami once elaborated that the motive behind providing free healthcare is that it is very hard for a person who is undergoing physical discomfort to be able to concentrate on spiritual development. Therefore it is essential that the physical needs of any person are taken care off. Only then can one focus the mind towards self-transformation, ultimately leading to self-realization.
Bhagawan has been providing quality and free healthcare to people from all walks of life and continues to do so by establishing hospitals and providing medical vans which stand as temples of love and healing for anyone seeking respite from the maladies of body and mind. More importantly, these institutions also provide a platform for serving fellow beings. This forum aims at helping individuals by providing them an opportunity to serve in the area of healthcare and transform themselves into ideal instruments through which Divine love can flow and touch millions of lives.
