Swami visited three campuses between July 01st and July 03rd, beginning with the Bhoomi Puja at the new upcoming Campus, Hampi.
Swami took off a little after 9.00 a.m to the new Campus situated at the historical town of Hampi, which was the seat of the Vijayanagara Dynasty for over two hundred and fifty years. Swami’s helicopter departed along with Sri Madan Gupta from Dubai, Sri B N Narasimha Murthy and brother Madhusudan Naidu, amidst all the cheer and the excitement of the students who had gathered in the galleries of the Sri Sathya Sai Samagamam Stadium, to bid their Lord a fond farewell.
The Hampi Campus site also happens to be situated just a few miles away from the most famous Virupaksha Temple, which apart from its architecture and history, is also known for the very first miracle that Swami as a young boy Sathyanarayana Raju, showed his own brother Seshama Raju. It was here that the young Sathya was found outside, as well as inside the sanctum sanctorum at the same time, to the astonishment of his own elder brother. Thus began the history of miracles of Bhagawan that the world witnesses even today!
Within less than an hour, Swami’s chopper descended on the newly made helipad at the site in Hampi, which is set amidst the historical and mythological mountains of Khishkinda, the very place where Sri Rama met his most devoted servant Hanuman who further took him to Sugriva, where he formed the army, and fought the battle of Lanka, and defeated Ravana eventually.
A place was made for Swami, along with rooms for the guests and other important invitees. A shamiyaana was also erected which could accommodate 400-500 devotees from Hubli and Dharwad. Swami went straight to His residence and after the guests refreshed themselves, He proceeded to Bhoomi Puja site where He Himself performed the rituals. Swami has very lovingly named this campus as Sri Sathya Sai Viswaniketanam, which is significant of the great Indian cultural values of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam, which means the whole world is our family. Viswaniketanam truly means the universal home.
After the Bhoomi Puja, Swami proceeded to Satsang venue, and ascended the stage amidst Bhajans sung by the devotees. After Vedic chanting by the students of Swami’s institutions, there was a introductory talk by Sri M S Sathyanarayana, who spoke about the ongoing mission of Swami, which is expanding by the day and connected the dots by saying the place which Rama visited to bless His most devoted servant Hanuman and the Varanas, is now sanctified yet again by Sai Rama.
After Sri Sathyanarayana’s talk, Sri B N Narasimha Murthy spoke about the wonderful happenings that are going on in the current times, none of them can be understood by the limited mind, but can only be experienced in one’s heart, he emphasised. He recollected the wonderful incidents that happened in Swami’s life associated with this place of Hampi where the Municipal Chairman had invited a young Sathya to visit his place out of devotion, the same place where he had gifted Him with a golden pin, which eventually Swami lost. This marked a significant event of Swami giving up all the attachments of the family and taking to the life of complete service to society. He also emphasised that though God is not seen to the physical eyes, yet it is his faith which makes us believe in His existence. At the Virupaksha temple for that matter it is only a stone Lingam, but it is considered as a living God. “It is our faith which makes God manifest in that stone. Food we offer, the worship we offer and all the other ceremonies that we perform to please the God in that stone is with the belief that in that gross stone which is the matter, there is the subtle energy presence of the Divine. Today, Swami may not have His gross physical body but He is continuing His mission in the subtle”, he explained.
Thereafter, Swami gave His discourse in which He mentioned about this great principle of Indian culture which considers the whole world as one’s own family. It is to the narrow minded people that the differences belong, but to the people with a broad mind, all belong to them, Swami emphasised. “To establish again this great Indian culture and philosophy of the unity of mankind based on the principle of Divinity is why we are establishing another institution at this very sacred place”, Swami declared. He urged that all the devotees must come together in a united spirit of service in order to make this wonderful project happen. “With one finger there is little that one can achieve, but when several fingers come together, it gives strength to the hand to achieve the unimaginable and achievable.” Swami also guided the devotees present to start the breakfast programme for the school children who were seated in the hall.
After this programme, Swami went back blessing the devotees to His make shift residence, lunch was served thereafter. Swami then called the contractor and discussed the construction and plan for the whole Campus, which will commence in June 2018, and will provide free values-based education both in Kannada and English, starting from grade six onwards. Swami’s words do not fail only it is a matter of time when His Sankalpa will manifest.
After lunch around 1.30 p.m, Swami took off to the next Campus, Hassan which is another historical town, known for the ancient kingdoms of Hoysala.Forty minutes later Swami’s helicopter descended in front of the Sri Sathya Sai Sathyaniketanam campus at Hassan, where more than seven hundred devotees and parents had gathered to bask in His love.
