In His infinite grace and love, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has blessed humanity by establishing educational institutions rooted in values, creating a generation of selfless leaders, the world needs today. It was His Divine Sankalpa to perform Bhoomi Puja for yet another four new campuses in four districts namely, Shimoga, Belgaum, Udupi and Mysore of Karnataka state in 2019.
Bhagawan along with entourage and guests from Muddenahalli arrived at the Shimoga for Bhoomi Puja of Sri Sathya Sai Sarvaniketanam around 10 a.m. On His arrival, He was received by the Vedam procession. Thereafter Bhagawan proceeded straight to His room. Then, He came to the terrace and gave balcony Darshan to the devotees gathered there.
After blessing the waiting devotees, Bhagawan visited the garden located adjacent to the campus site. He then quickly proceeded to the venue where the ceremonious Bhoomi Puja was to take place. The guests of honour were Sri T B Jayachandra, Hon. Former Minister, Govt. of Karnataka and Mr Anthony Tan, Mrs Karen Tan, Singapore.
The Bhoomi Puja was very grand. Bhagawan poured auspicious items like milk, curd and Ghee (clarified butter) on the land and blessed it. This was followed by the elders and the guests of honour also offering these items and seeking the blessings of Mother Earth.
Sri K R Surendra, Secretary of Divyaniketanam, Jayapura, addressed the gathering by expressing his love and gratitude to Bhagawan for gracing the occasion. He welcomed the dignitaries and the devotees who assembled for the function. He spoke about how the campus had come up only because of Bhagawan’s grace. He also shared interesting facts about how the site had been chosen by Bhagawan. Bhagawan gave a clue that adjacent to the site, there was a hill and a river and the site was surrounded with greenery. It was very tough to locate this land. But, when Sri Surendra approached Sri Sreenivasa Bhat (father of Shivaprasad Bhat), he readily agreed and arranged for the land. He then expressed his gratitude to Bhagawan for choosing this land and agreeing for the campus.
Then Bhagawan commanded Shivaprasad Bhat, who is currently pursuing his B.A final year at Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence, to share his experiences. He recalled his study and stay at Alike and recollected how he had prayed to Bhagawan to start a school in his own district, Shimoga. At the time, Bhagawan told him to wait for some more time. And finally now, when he was about to complete his graduation, Bhagawan declared the opening of the new campus so that dedicated students like Shivaprasad could come and serve here. Shivaprasad Bhat also shared how Bhagawan cured his mother’s disease and blessed her. He said that everyone assembled there could assemble only due to Bhagawan’s love and mercy, and urged everyone to work together for this noble project. After his talk, Bhagawan blessed Shivaprasad with a divine gift.
Sri T B Jayachandra was the next speaker. In his talk, he praised Shivaprasad Bhat for his excellent and inspiring talk. He expressed his gratitude to Bhagawan for blessing him on this beautiful occasion and spoke to all the devotees about the various service initiatives taken up by Bhagawan. He expressed that Bhagawan was very much present and still continuing His mission with the help of many able and noble instruments.
Sri B N Narasimha Murthy Sir spoke next and appreciated Shivaprasad Bhat’s words spoken straight from his heart. He also expressed his thanks to all the people who sacrificed many things for this dream of Bhagawan to come true. He prayed to Bhagawan to bless everyone with a divine message.
Bhagawan then addressed the gathering with His nectarine words. The gist of His discourse was: “God has thousands of Hands, Feet and Limbs. The word ‘Sarvam’ is very unique to the Bharatiya culture, as they keep praying that all should be happy and peaceful. This prayer is driven by a feeling that God resides in all and all should be happy. Bharatiyas aspired for divine feelings of oneness of all and never wanted to be confined to the principle ‘I and Mine alone’. There is nothing wrong in wanting to pursue higher studies and other disciplines of study as well; but, whether someone is a doctor or an engineer or a lawyer, one must ensure that all that is learnt is put into practice for helping the poor and the needy. Worldly education is also important, but apart from being great, one must aspire to become good. So, this campus is being set up to ensure that ‘Sarvam’, i.e., all are happy and all become good. Aspiring and blessing all to cultivate these broader feelings, I conclude the discourse.”
A sumptuous lunch was served to all who attended the function. After a brief rest, Bhagawan left for Gadag at 3:30 p.m.
