It was a truly momentous and magnificent occasion as a new temple of healing which would provide hope and solace to many was to commence its medical services at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba arrived at the Hospital in the evening, and after blessing all those who had worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality, Bhagawan made His way to the centre of this heart-shaped hospital, for yet another beautiful session in His Divine presence.
The proceedings began with a welcome address by Sister Bhuvana Santhanam, who offered her gratitude to Bhagawan for making this miracle a reality. She spoke about the two brothers, Anil and Sagar Muthyala, the engineers for this grand project and how they had completed so much of the building in just a short span of 60 days! She said, “Where logic ends, magic begins! Today indeed is a red-letter day in the history of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals as this Divine temple of healing truly stands as a manifestation of the Will and power of the Lord.”
The first speaker for the evening, was the legendary cricketer, Sri Sunil Gavaskar. He expressed his gratitude to Bhagawan for gracing his hometown with His Divine presence and prayed that Bhagawan should keep visiting the city.
With one in every 100 children being born with Congenital Heart Defect, the statistics reveal that in the state of Maharashtra, only 10% of these children receive treatment. The Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani hospitals stand tall as beacons of light for these little children and their families, who have no other to turn to, but God. It is under the guidance of Sri C Sreenivas that these hospitals have been taking shape over the last seven years. Bhagawan blessed Sri C Sreenivas to speak next and he began by acknowledging Sri Indulal Shah, who had always dreamt of Bhagawan opening a hospital in this city. He went on to say that this is a golden day in history where Bhagawan has planted the seeds of self-transformative selflessness in every heart. Bhagawan uniquely defines selflessness as being when the self loses itself to find itself in another self and indeed, this is the most powerful aspect of Bhagawan’s projects. Sri C Sreenivas also offered his gratitude to the Muthyala brothers who have worked 18-20 hours per day for the last 60 days, in order to execute Bhagawan’s vision of this hospital.
The next speaker was Sri Anil Muthyala. He along with his brother Sri Sagar, met Bhagawan for the first time at the Bhoomi Puja for this very hospital one year ago and they immediately agreed to take on this project. They had never imagined coming to Mumbai, let alone taking on a project of such magnitude! He emphasised that such buildings usually take at least 2-3 years and in a city like Mumbai, possibly even longer! He expressed his gratitude to Bhagawan for making this miracle happen, especially in such a short time as 60 days. Even though the work was done at a fast pace, there had been no compromise on quality and such a miracle could only have been performed by Bhagawan.
The next speaker for the evening was Sri B N Narasimha Murthy who began by saying that to be recognised by God is much greater than being recognised by the world. He recounted seeing the building in August when nothing had been built due to flooding and monsoons, and had wondered how this hospital could be ready for inauguration by November. Bhagawan’s infinite compassion has made the impossible, possible, he concluded.
Bhagawan then in His boundless love, granted His Divine message. He praised the brothers, Anil and Sagar Muthyala as having been Bhagawan’s left and right hands in this mission and profusely showered His love on them. He explained that many people ask why Bhagawan is in such a hurry to set up all these institutions and Bhagawan lovingly answered that “Hari is always in a hurry to answer the prayers of His devotees.” Bhagawan continued to say that it is His vow to give the needy what they lack and since so many millions of children are waiting for operations in India, He has willed that five hospitals must come up across the country in order to provide healthcare access to everyone – namely one each in the North, South, East, West and Central regions of the country. Alongside these main super-speciality hospitals, Bhagawan declared that 250 medical centres would come up across the country in order to reach every part of society.
Speaking about the upcoming initiation of work for the hospital in Kolkata, Bhagawan also announced that an exclusive centre for higher studies in Paediatric Cardiology would be established, which would provide further education in the field, totally free of cost.
Praising Sri C Sreenivas, Bhagawan said that he is always ready to do whatever Bhagawan commands, without question and that everyone must be like him, always ready to do Bhagawan’s work. Saying that this heart-shaped hospital should serve as the heart of Mumbai, reminding this city that never sleeps that heart should always win over the head, Bhagawan concluded His Divine Discourse.
After a short break, the evening’s programme continued with a musical offering by Sri Sumeet Tappoo and his group of musicians. Sri Sumeet Tappoo presented a beautiful bouquet of nine devotional songs on Radha, Krishna, Rama and Swami, ending with a prayerful rendition of ‘Jab Pran Tan Se Nikale’, which requests the Lord to be present during the final moments of our lives. Thus, ended a most captivating evening with the Lord and Mangala Arati was offered to Bhagawan.
