The inauguration of the Screening Block for patients with congenital heart disease on August 14, 2018 also marked the installation of Lord Ganesha idol at the upcoming Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centre for Child Heart Care and Training in Pediatric Cardiac Skills In Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. Bhagawan Baba arrived at the rain-washed venue at 10:45 a.m amidst chants of Vedam and melodies of the Nadaswaram. He proceeded straight to the small shrine that was ready for the installation of Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. As folded hands, fervent hearts and swaying marigold garlands welcomed the Lord, Swami went up the small flight of stairs and presided over the Ganapathi Homam that was underway. He then consecrated the idol blessing all the devotees who had gathered around.
Swami then proceeded to the newly constructed block where the screening for children with heart defects will be conducted even as the Hospital construction is underway. He inaugurated the same and made His way to the Pandal arranged for devotees to gather that morning. After the rendition of a few Bhajans, there were talks by Sri Sunil Gavaskar and Sri C Sreenivas. In their talks, they exhorted the need for the city’s denizens to come together and support this Institution that would offer free Pediatric cardiac support to many unfortunate children. Sri C Sreenivas, the Chairman of the Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust, overwhelmed by the mystery of how people and resources appear at Swami’s will from thin air, introduced the two brothers who are contractors for the hospital building to all gathered. He conveyed his deepest appreciation and gratitude for their commitment.
Anil and Sagar Reddy had not known or seen Swami while He was in the physical form and their association has been only a year old, yet their commitment and understanding of Swami and His mission is awe inspiring. Swami called and blessed the two brothers profusely who have taken up this challenge to complete the construction in the next 100 days by working day and night along with their entire team, braving the not so cooperative weather of Mumbai.
As Sri Sunil Gavaskar, the legendary cricketer and a long standing devotee stood up to speak, Swami jokingly advised him to talk about how should one play when there are few overs left and lots of runs to be made. He said “During the last overs one needs to only hit out of boundary as fours and sixes, and not play a slow game. Likewise, we have only 100 days left to finish the construction which calls for a out of boundary strike strategy!”
Mr Gavaskar, in his talk appreciated everyone’s efforts to fulfil this vision of healthcare to the rural poor and also reminded all that the goodness that will arise out of this endeavour will be transformative for one and all.
Swami then blessed everyone gathered with His divine message, and started by saying,
“What you have determined to do, you must do and do not give up.
What you have set out to achieve, you must achieve, what you have desired for, you must ensure it is fulfilled.
Do not leave God, until He fulfills your prayer. Giving up half way is no devotion at all.
Long back, when Mahatma Gandhi gave a message to the country during the freedom struggle, he said do or die. That’s exactly My message today! Either we do or die doing what we have set out to. There is no going back!
We are all part of one whole. We must not see any differences in others, there may be diversity in our surroundings, but we must see unity in it. This is the path: from an individual to society and society to God. You are all on that path. In these hospitals, even as hearts are being operated on, hearts are being transformed too. Like what the cricketer (referring to Sri Sunil Gavaskar) just spoke, Swami is also transforming these little lives so they can come back and serve humanity. This is what the hospital in Mumbai is here to teach. This is not a building of brick and mortar. People will come here, find peace and hope and joy. This is going to be possible only because of God. Without any quest for name or making noise, keep working and don’t work for anyone’s acknowledgement. It is a great example to live lives this way. Find fulfillment in your lives doing service this way. When so much of selflessness and sacrifice is here, how can any act of service not materialise? What Swami has thought in His head, has to happen on Earth. No one can stop it!”
Swami also blessed the contractors and construction workers with strength and courage for executing a project as humongous as this. He exhorted all to find fulfillment in their lives by serving people in a devoted manner.
The morning function came to a close with Bhagawan partaking His lunch with a few dignitaries, and distribution of Prasadam thereafter.
