During Swami’s Visit to Enugu in November 2017, He had announced His Sankalpa to help Africa in four ways of Annam (Food), Aksharam (Education), Aarogyam (Health) and Anandam (Bliss). Swami had also declared, “Father Charles works for God and His people, therefore God is here to help him through so many hands!” And so it was. Yet another divine visit which also meant, new tidings to embrace. With Christmas just around the corner, Swami’s gift to the children of Enugu, was gleaming and beaming in all its glory at the Joy Ashram – a new School which would now accommodate 1000 children!
Swami‘s entourage landed late afternoon on December 15 from Mauritius. Everyone were lovingly received by Father Charles Ogada, and the entire retinue from Lagos – Brother Anant Rao and his wife Smt Kamala, Brother Ricky Sharma and his wife Smt Komal, amongst others. Tired after an incredibly long travel, with multi stops, and change of aircrafts, Swami’s entourage proceeded to the hotel. They were greeted by the children and teachers of Joy Ashram, immaculately dressed in their Christmas attires. Swami manifested just as Brother Madhusudan alighted from the car, and stood in joy as He heard the children sing. Overpowered with love, Swami blessed each child with an apple and chocolates, and promised to see them the next morning. After an early, but elaborate South Indian dinner cooked by a team of African chefs to perfection, the entourage retired for the night.
The next morning, December 16, after piping hot Idlis, Upma, Sambhar and Chutney, Swami’s entourage proceeded to the Joy Ashram or ‘Anuli Ashram’ as it is called in the local language, tucked away from the Highway in the Ebbe village. Swami was greeted by the children who chanted Sai Rudram, with perfect pronunciation, to the joy, delight and surprise of everyone. Swami was mighty pleased with their chanting.
It was Sunday morning, and many villagers had gathered for the Sunday Mass at the Chapel. Father Charles conducted the Mass, which was divine as always, in the presence of the Heavenly Father! Father Charles Ogada, one man with the resolute determination to serve humanity by serving the children of God had built the ‘Heart of Love Children’s Home’, in the year 2011 for the homeless, orphaned and disadvantaged children. The ‘Embodiments of Love Academy’ is a primary and secondary school built in the following year, where more than 350 children receive values-based integral education totally free-of-cost. Like minded individuals from across the world, who believe in Bhagawan’s tenet of selfless service to the humanity irrespective of caste and creed, have been a pillar of strength to these beautiful initiatives by Father Charles, under the direct benign guidance of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
After the Mass concluded, Swami asked Father Charles to share some of his divine experiences. He narrated an instance when he was walking in the woods one day, as a young boy of 17 years, when he heard the voice of God. He suddenly realised he became one with everything around. He heard a voice which asked, ‘What do you want to do?’ Spontaneously the answer which emerged from Father Charles was, ‘To love You and serve You’. Father Charles reminded everyone that ‘I’ should be crucified and sacrificed, to be able to embrace everyone alike. He concluded by saying, “We are born on this earth for two reasons – to love all and serve all!”
Mr Isaac Tigrett who is blessed to be able to see many visions, revealed how he saw Jesus Christ, and the whole Chapel had transformed to a cathedral! Emotionally charged, he submitted that it was one of the greatest moments of his life. Sri C Sreenivas said, “Whom, where and at what moment God chooses is up to Him. You have all lived in God’s miracle, who is none other than Father Charles. It is God’s great choice that He chose Father Charles.” Sri C Sreenivas also revealed how the village of Ebbe would shine forth in the second week of January 2019, when many children would receive the Gift of Life, as a team of eight doctors and paramedics from the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital are due to visit Enugu to perform free heart surgeries!
Sri B N Narasimha Murthy who was overpowered by the blissful morning, prayed for joy to spread everywhere, and around the world. He concluded by saying that the goal of life is to find God within everyone’s hearts.
Swami blessed everyone profusely and invited all the children to come and perform in India at Muddenahalli during the Sports Meet. This concluded the morning session, and lunch was served to Swami at the Chapel. Soon after, Swami’s entourage returned to the hotel for lunch and afternoon rest. In the evening, everyone returned for a cultural programme by the children and staff. Christmas carols and songs were sung by everyone, and it was indeed a joyful Christmassy evening.
Swami urged Mr Isaac Tigrett to speak and also sing. He thanked all for filling his heart, and sang a song, much to the joy of everyone. Father Charles submitted himself to Swami, and revealed to the children that ‘each challenge brings us intimately close with Swami’. He prayed to Swami for more challenges, as they were his friend. “When you leave anything to God 100%, it will be done!” He submitted that the construction for the school building began only in April earlier during the year. In a place like Enugu, constructing a school which can accommodate 1000 children is no joke! All this is testament to the fact that God is at work, but of course with instruments like Father Charles! Swami gave away clothes to all the children, and partook His dinner, while the entourage returned to the hotel for dinner.
