As the medical mission of Swami continues to gain momentum, yet another sacred step towards this was the agenda of the morning – Bhoomi Puja for Fiji’s totally free-of-cost quality healthcare initiative, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Medical Centre, which will be inaugurated on April 24, 2018 as commanded by Swami. Soon after breakfast, Swami proceeded to the site along with His entourage, and the entire Tappoo family. It was a beautiful ocean-facing parcel of land, in the heart of Suva.
Swami was welcomed in the traditional Fijian style, to the beat of drums. As soon as Swami took His seat, Dr Krupali Tappoo, who is leading the medical mission in Fiji under Swami’s direct divine guidance, welcomed Swami and expressed her gratitude on behalf of all the people of Fiji, for this gift of love which will later become a Super Speciality Hospital. A Fijian welcome ceremony was held, and Swami was offered the tooth of a whale, which is said to be the highest honour given to a Chief.
Thereafter, the Bhoomi Puja commenced, which was streamed LIVE on YouTube for the benefit of devotees around the world. Swami blessed the Yajna by offering auspicious and sacred oblations during Purnahuti. Dr Krupali once again took to the podium, and spoke about her journey of transformation until that very moment, which overwhelmed her greatly, as she was blessed with this unique opportunity to be able to serve fellow humanity. Sri Mahendra Tappoo, Chairman of the Sai Prema Foundation, addressed the gathering next, and spoke of the glorious times ahead.
Sri C Sreenivas in his speech said that this first step of the Medical Centre was indeed a giant leap of faith, of opportunity, of service and responsibility. He said, “The beauty of health is not just about doctors and patients. Health connects and bonds each and everyone of us. That is the beauty of what health and healthcare offers to all of us. It is that lovely opportunity where from a little child to an old man, can offer himself in the service of the Lord by doing whatever he can.” He urged everyone not to loose the enormity of the moment, “as building this institution is and will be the greatest miracle of our lives!”
Swami blessed everyone with His divine discourse, and reminded everyone about the purpose of the human body, which is to be able to serve others. “Service is the Sadhana, through which you can become closer to God, and this mission is all about loving others and serving others.” He blessed the team to begin in a small way with a general medical facility, a visiting facility for diabetology, cardiology and gynaecology. The rest will be general facilities with a pharmacy.” Lunch was served to Bhagawan and all the gathered devotees, after which the Lord proceeded to the Tappoo residence for the afternoon.
In the evening, Swami blessed the residence of Sri Remal Tappoo and his wife Smt Namrata. Soulful Bhajans were offered by Brother Sumeet. Sri B N Narasimha Murthy addressed the gathering on Swami’s command next. He spoke about how devotees can attain God. He reminded everyone about the children devotees from the scriptures, and said, “Children and easily attain God. The Lord has always said that He cannot be won over by Veda (performing rituals and sacrifices) or meditation or charity, or sacrifice, but only by devotion.”
Swami in His short discourse said, “When you add God to your thinking or Chinta – it becomes Chintana. In every work that you do, add love for God, and it becomes worship.”
Swami then blessed the family and a few others with interview before dinner could be served to Him and the guests. After Mangala Arati, Swami returned to the Tappoo residence for the night.
