It was a retreat for the students of Bhagawan as the Lord scheduled three-day visit to the Gadag campus from February 9 to 11 amidst the Bhoomi Puja of upcoming new campuses. Bhagawan landed at the Gadag campus on February 9 in the morning and was warmly greeted with Veda chanting, Dollu Kunitha and Hejje Kunitha, after which He retired to His house.
Bhagawan returned for Darshan in the evening at 6:00 p. He was welcomed with Ganesha Atharva Shesham Veda chanteds by the children, after which they sang three devotional songs for Bhagawan — Come Here My Dear, Kalisu Guruve and Jab Bhi Tune Bulaya. Then, three students of Grade 7, Rachana, Srushti Palled and Geetha Nagaralli, spoke about how they were gradually transformed from leading a village life (prior to joining the campus) to a school and hostel life on joining the campus.
After the soulful songs rendition, the students of Grade 6 and 7 followed it up with three graceful dance performances comprising of a Ganesha dance, a Devi dance and a Kudala Sangama Deva dance. Bhagawan was so happy with the last dance performance that He invited the students to perform it on the Premamrutham stage in Muddenahalli.
Next, Sri B N Narasimha Murthy gave a brief talk on how the students should conduct themselves. He also informed those present about Bhagawan’s other upcoming new campuses.
Finally, Bhagawan gave a discourse in which He imparted the spiritual meaning of ‘WATCH’ wherein W stood for “watch your words”, A stood for “watch your actions”, T stood for “watch your thoughts”, C stood for “watch your character” and H stood for “watch your heart”.
Bhagawan’s discourse marked the end of the day’s programme, after which Mangala Arati was sung and Prasadam was distributed. He then retired for the day.
At 9:30 a.m the next morning, February 10, He took off for his scheduled visit to the Belgaum campus. On His return to Gadag at 3:30 p.m and a short rest thereafter, Bhagawan returned at 6.30 p.m to the campus for the evening programme and Darshan. The students had prepared a 30 – 45 minutes drama on the life story of Basavanna, which Bhagawan was very happy with. He praised the students on their enactment and invited them to perform the drama and the dance on the Premamrutham stage in Muddenahalli. Also, Bhagawan even asked for the drama to be learnt by the students at all His educational campuses and further expressed His wish that the Tatvas propagated by Basavanna during his lifetime and incorporated in the drama should be practised by all His students.
In His discourse Bhagawan also revealed that the people of ancient times had a lot more devotion to God than the people of today. He gave the example of Basavanna’s strong belief in gender equality and how he fought for it. He especially instructed that the girl students of all Sri Sathya Sai Educational Institutions should take this responsibility and cultivate inner strength to change their society, then the state, the country and finally change the whole world.
Bhagawan said that people all over the world lived by their own rules. Just as the hands, legs, eyes, nose, etc., were the different parts of the same body, and yet they had there own roles and responsibilities to perform, likewise, all the people were the different parts of God Himself. So, Bhagawan implored that all should believe in Him and become like Him.
The last on the list of the day’s programmes for Bhagawan was a video clip comprising of photos of all students at the campus from 2017 to 2019; Bhagawan said He would give tabs for the children for digital leaning.
At 8.30 a.m on February 11, His last day at the Gadag campus, Bhagawan gave Darshan to His students before He proceeded for the Karwar campus. He told the students that they must keep their minds clean and pure, they must keep their devotion and dedication only towards Bhagawan, they must be kind-hearted, be truthful in a pleasant way and never lie or hurt anyone. On that meaningful note, Bhagawan’s trip to the Gadag campus ended.
