As Sri Sathya Sai Karunyaniketanam, Tumkur campus was gearing up in anticipation of Swami’s promised visit on 20th August, the evening of 29th July brought the unexpected and joyous news that Swami will be visiting the campus on 5th August. Five days flew by like five minutes as the students, staff and devotees of Tumkur eagerly prepared the campus to receive the Lord, engrossed in only with the thought of how to please Bhagawan.
On the morning of 5th August, Swami reached the campus at around 11.15 a.m and was welcomed with a procession of Vedic chants. Having taken the dignitaries to His interview room, He spoke about the growth of the campus and roles played by Sri B S Sathyanarayana and Brother Rakesh, Chairman and Secretary of the Campus.
Thereafter, Swami proceeded for a Bhoomi Pooja at the site of the upcoming hostel building and blessed the building with the name of ‘Sai Karun’. Commanding the work to be started on the following day, Swami instructed that the new hostel building should be ready for the students by the beginning of the next academic year. The students then rendered beautiful songs and offered heartfelt speeches at Swami’s lotus feet in an expression of gratitude to their Master. Swami then received Mangala Arati, profusely blessed the students and lovingly announced that He would stay in the campus for the night. This brought much joy to the hearts of all the students who had been praying that Swami would stay with them. Swami then proceeded to have lunch with the guests and students and after distributing ice-creams to everyone, He retired for the afternoon.
The evening session began as the Chairman of the campus offered a newsletter to Swami, prepared by devotees of USA. The students then offered a bouquet of songs, after which Sri B N Narasimha Murthy addressed all who had gathered. He spoke about the love and enthusiasm of the devotees of the USA who are selflessly working for Bhagawan’s mission. Swami then granted His Divine message and also spoke the sacrifice of devotees who offer their hard-earned money to Swami so that He may build campuses for His students.
After yet another sublime session with the Lord, the students were blessed with another opportunity of dining with Swami.
Thereafter, Swami called the Chairman and Secretary of the campus to His room and expressed His great joy at seeing a positive development in the boys, who have made great efforts in various aspects of their campus life, such as Veda chanting, singing and discipline. He reminded them of the ancient saying, ‘Yathaa Raajaa Tathaa Prajaa’, which means, ‘As is the king, so are the subjects’. After spending some more precious moments with these staff members, Swami then retired for the evening.

The next morning, Swami called all the teachers to His interview room, where the Headmaster chanted some Shlokas offering salutations. Swami blessed him with a ring and spoke to the teachers, emphasising the importance of faith. He explained that although in science experience comes before faith, in spirituality, faith comes before experience.
Swami then assured the teachers that He would take care of all their needs, as well as those of their parents and families, as long as they take care of His children, guiding and lovingly caring for them.
Thereafter, Swami granted a parting session to the boys, assuring them of His next visit. As the continuous downpour of rain relented for a short time, Swami proceeded towards the helicopter and waving affectionately to all, departed for Hassan. Thus ended another bliss-filled, divine visit to Sri Sathya Sai Karunyanikethanam campus, Tumkur.
