As per the Divine promise that He would visit Visakhapatnam on the first of November every year, Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai arrived by chartered flight in the port city of Visakhapatnam at 12:15 p.m on November 01, 2019. Along with a few guests, Swami was led in a convoy from the airport to Sri Sathya Sai Ananda Ashram, the residence of Sri Madhusudan Sivakoti and Smt Vijaya Lakshmi. An alumnus of Swami’s Institution, Brother Sivakoti has been spearheading several service projects in Visakhapatnam for many years. On Swami’s command, Sri Sathya Sai Ananda Ashram has also been home to about eight orphaned children who are being looked after and educated with a lot of love. Along with these children who received Swami with Vedic chanting, a large group of alumni and devotees had gathered to welcome Swami, who interacted with them briefly before partaking lunch and resting for the afternoon.
At 5 p.m, Swami proceeded to the Sujatha Nagar colony where a public Satsang was organised. He first visited the Mandir which He had inaugurated last year on the same date. All the volunteers who serve in the Annapoorna programme had gathered in the Mandir and Swami lovingly blessed, and spoke to them. He advised everyone on how Seva should be done and spoke about selfless service and the transformation of each individual. Swami then distributed clothes to all the volunteers before making His way to a nearby community hall for the public Satsang. Despite the rain, hundreds of devotees had gathered, eager for a glimpse of Bhagawan. The overflowing crowd meant that devotees were seated outside the hall in tents and moved by their devotion, He first proceeded to grant Darshan to all those who were seated outside. As Bhajans were in progress, Swami then entered the hall and ascended the dais to take His seat on the throne.
The evening’s proceedings began with a welcome address by Sri Madhusudan Sivakoti, after which there was a talk by Smt Jyothi, an ardent devotee who was instrumental in setting up the Mandir at Sujatha Nagar. She expressed her joy that Bhagawan was once again visiting the Mandir and thanked Him profusely for this great blessing.
The next speaker for the evening was Sri B N Narasimha Murthy who spoke about the importance of devotion, for it is only through devotion that one can reach God. He praised the devotion of the devotees in Visakhapatnam and reminded them of the importance of Seva. Swami then granted His Divine Discourse where He reiterated the message and power of selfless love and service. He spoke about the good work that is currently being undertaken in Visakhapatnam where the devotees are engaging in Annapoorna Seva, and promised the devotees who had come from Vijayawada that He would visit them as well, as the service activities commence there. Assuring the devotees of Visakhapatnam that He would visit them again on the First of November next year, Swami brought His discourse to a close.
The programme then continued with a musical offering by the Chaitanya brothers who offered Annamacharya Kritis. After the performance Swami blessed the brothers and the accompanying artists, after which Mangala Arati was offered to Swami.
Swami then proceeded to the residence of Smt Jyothi where the family performed Pada Pooja and after partaking dinner, Swami blessed all with a photo session. He then returned to Sri Sathya Sai Ananda Ashram and retired for the evening.

The morning of 2 November, 2019 began with Suprabhatam at 5 a.m, as more than six hundred devotees and school children had gathered to participate in Nagar Sankirtan. As the place resounded with melodious Bhajans and filled with divine vibrations, all the devotees and children gathered around the Ashram premises in anticipation of Swami’s Darshan. At around 6 a.m., Swami in all His compassion came out to the first-floor balcony and granted Darshan to everyone.
After breakfast, Swami interacted with several devotees and blessed them with personal interviews. Swami spent the morning interacting with devotees and then partook His lunch before retiring for the afternoon.
In the evening, a special programme was held at the Marriott Hotel to launch the Annapoorna Breakfast Programme in two other Mandals in the Visakhapatnam district. With this expansion, nearly seven-thousand students of government schools would be provided with a free, nutritious breakfast every single morning.
Upon reaching the hotel, Sri Madhusudan Sai spoke to members of the Annapoorna Trust and guided them on how to move forward with the Breakfast Programme. He then proceeded to the hall where many volunteers, teachers, principals and other education officers of the district had gathered. The event began with introductory remarks by Sri Sathyanarayana of the Annapoorna Trust and a welcome address by Sri Madhusudan Sivakoti. Thereafter, Sri Anand Kadali spoke about the Annapoorna programme and how it is really a platform for self-transformation, cascading the feeling of selfless love from the volunteers to the teachers and children.
Sri Adeep Raj, the local MLA then addressed the gathering and expressed his appreciation of the service rendered to the children and his desire to be more closely associated with the programme. This was followed by a few talks by teachers and the Mandal Education Officer, all of whom described the impact of the Annapoorna programme on the students and themselves. While there has been a remarkable progress in the children’s health and academics, the teachers have also been taking a personal interest to implement the programme by coming to school early to supervise the serving of breakfast themselves.
Thereafter, Sri B N Narasimha Murthy spoke about the wonderful work being done by the Annapoorna team and also about his own long association with Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the inspiration behind numerous service projects such as the building of twenty-two new campuses and three super-speciality hospitals, alongside the revolutionary Annapoorna Breakfast Programme.
Sri Madhusudan Sai then addressed the gathering and reminded everyone that it is the duty of society to provide every child with education, nutrition and healthcare, totally free of cost. He emphasised that the programme can only be successful when volunteers serve the children, feeling that they are their own. He said that by doing so, the very concept of hunger can then be eradicated from the face of the Earth.
Thereafter, there was a musical concert by the renowned vocalists, the Malladi brothers. After the performance, Sri Madhusudan Sai blessed the brothers and all those who had performed as accompanying musicians. He then proceeded to the residence of another ardent devotee, Sri Ram Gopal Rao and partook His dinner before retiring for the night.
