Set amidst the resplendent green trees of Kadiye, a hamlet that is an hour’s drive from Karwar, alongside the cool waters of river Kali, is Sri Sathya Sai Sattwaniketanam, Bhagawan’s school in Karwar district, which was inaugurated in 2018.
Bhagawan, arriving by helicopter to inaugurate the newly constructed Indoor Sports Complex, landed at the site around 10 a.m, was welcomed by Sri Girish H S, the Chairman of the campus, among other dignitaries and Chairpersons.
Bhagawan made His way to the Sports complex, being led by a procession consisting of the traditional Naada Swaram, Yakshagaana dance, Gumti dance and Dollu Kunita. He went on to inaugurate the building by signing the plaque and cutting the ceremonial ribbon. He then visited the makeshift classrooms, staff quarters and computer rooms, which had been erected within the sports complex using temporary structures, to house the children and the staff while the hostel and school building are being constructed.
Bhagawan then proceeded to grace the public function where over a thousand devotees eagerly awaited the opportunity to interact with their Lord.
The function commenced with the chanting of the Narayana Upanishad by the 6th class students of the Karwar campus, following which the Chairman addressed the gathering, welcoming Bhagawan, the assembled dignitaries, parents and students to Karwar. In his welcome address, he briefly spoke of the ongoing mission in the subtle form and the rapid pace at which educational institutions as well as hospitals are being established across the country.
Smt Roopali Naik, Member of Legislative Assembly, spoke next and in her heartfelt speech, expressed her gratitude to Bhagawan for establishing such a beautiful campus in the remote village of Kadiye. Further, she requested Bhagawan to build a super speciality hospital and pledged her complete support for all the good work being undertaken. She spoke of her personal experiences with Bhagawan, of the numerous dreams she would have and the guidance she was receiving through these dreams.
Vinod Salunke, studying in Grade 6 in the Karwar campus, was next to speak. Vinod spoke of the overwhelming love and affection that he has received from Bhagawan, the teachers and the warden during the last eight months. The lad, during the course of his inspiring talk, also expressed his desire to participate in the mission of educating underprivileged children by becoming a teacher and serving in Bhagawan’s school.
Sri B N Narasimha Murthy spoke of the need for more educational institutions, whose sole purpose is not to make money, but to impart values to young minds. In his intriguing talk, he spoke of the maladies of the current education system while pondering over the meaning of true education, that which is for life, not merely for a living.
What followed next was the divine discourse.
After Arati was offered to Bhagawan, He went into the sports complex where the students and Bhagawan dined together. Post lunch, Bhagawan granted interviews to the children and campus administrators, interacting and guiding them. After distributing gifts to all the workers, who had toiled to build the sports complex, Bhagawan departed for Udupi.
