At Sathya Sai Grama, December 07, 2019 marks the annual celebrations of the life of the great visionary with a mission, Late Sri Madiyala Narayana Bhat. With a unique vision of providing free education to the poorest and most downtrodden of society, Sri Madiyala Narayana Bhat founded the Loka Seva Vrinda under the principles of Atma Kalyana and Loka Kalyana – redemption of the soul and welfare of society. This institution which was inaugurated on December 07 1960, has today grown into a beacon spreading its rays of light in the form of twenty-two new educational edifices, shining the light of education into the lives of India’s most rural children. Sri Madiyala Narayana Bhat’s noble vision has found fulfillment through the bountiful grace and blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba who made it His own mission to fulfill this selfless wish of His dear devotee. Through this one vision of Sri Madiyala Narayana Bhat, the educational institutions have redeemed the lives of thousands and continue to touch many more as the mission expands under the guidance of Sri Madhusudan Sai. It is in honour of this great soul that all the campuses take this day each year, to remember and honour their founder, pledging to lead their lives in his footsteps, with selflessness and surrender.
After the morning Puja had been completed at the Sai Ganesha temple, the Rudra Homa began in the Yajna Mantap where everyone had gathered in a Shamiana. As the main part of the Homa had been completed, Sri Madhusudan Sai arrived and proceeded to the Sai Ganesha temple where He blessed the Puja that had been performed earlier. He then descended from the temple and made His way into the Yajna Mantap where He offered the final Purnahuti, concluding the Homa.
Thereafter, Sri Madhusudan Sai commanded Sri B N Narasimha Murthy to address the gathering. Sri Narasimha Murthy spoke about the development of the Sai Ganesha temple and narrated how in the 1970s, Lord Ganesha had appeared to him and requested that a temple be built for Him which then resulted in the inauguration of the Sai Ganesha temple at Sathya Sai Grama. He also explained the importance and significance of performing Yajnas and reminded everyone that it was not simply a ritual, but an offering to the Lord who does indeed manifest and accept the offerings.
Sri Madhusudan Sai then granted His divine message and spoke about the sacredness of the land on which Sathya Sai Grama has been built. He said that this sacred land has been touched by the holy Feet of two Avatars: Lord Rama, when He and Lakshmana were searching for Mother Sita and now more recently, beloved Swami. Sri Madhusudan Sai explained how this land was also considered the land of Lord Shiva and therefore, a statue of Lord Shiva is set to be inaugurated very soon, which will make the place a magnet for spiritual seekers. Sri Madhusudan Sai also spoke about the power of collective prayer saying, “A ray of the sun by itself cannot achieve much, but when many rays are focused through a lens they can burn a piece of paper. Likewise, when so many minds together think of God at one point in time, in a particular place, in a particular way, the effect of it is multifold, manifold.” He explained that it was for the greater benefit of mankind that this Yajna has been conducted by Sri Narayana Rao for many years and it was the result of these prayers along with the selfless efforts of the Tyagajeevis, that these institutions have come this far. Exhorting all the students to make the most of the opportunity to study and be in such a sacred place and to make efforts to become more and more divine, Sri Madhusudan Sai concluded His message.
Mangala Arati was then offered, after which Sri Madhusudan Sai graciously walked among the crowd, sprinkling showers of holy water from the Yajna on everyone present. He then returned to Premdeep, thus concluding a wonderful Institution Day celebrations.
