Following a most magical New Year’s Eve with Bhagawan, the morning of New Year’s Day was filled with much joy and anticipation to see what 2019 would bring. Bhagawan glided into Premamrutham Hall, welcomed by a procession of Vedic chants and He walked amidst all who had eagerly gathered to seek His blessings for the beginning of the New Year, showering His love and blessings in abundance.
After Bhagawan had taken His seat on the dais, the morning’s proceedings began with a Vedic invocation to Lord Ganesha by the ninth-grade students of the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva High School.
This was followed by a recap of all the wonderful initiatives undertaken thus far, in the fields of education, healthcare, nutrition and solar power. In the past one year: five new educational campuses have sprung up across five districts in Karnataka, the E1E1 Programme has managed to expand to 1350 students, over 3000 children have received a new lease of life at Sai Sanjeevani hospitals, commencement of medical services was initiated at Khargar, Navi Mumbai and the work for a new Paediatric Cardiac hospital in Kolkata, was initiated by Bhagawan. Indeed, Bhagawan’s mission is ever on the increase and the mind-blowing number of projects being executed under His Divine guidance is truly a testament to the omnipresence and omnipotence of our Lord.
The morning celebrations then saw the release of a Bhajan CD called Sai Sudha, a collection of Shiva Bhajans, put together by alumni and devotees. This was followed by the release of the seventh volume of the book ‘Love Beyond Boundaries’. Authored by Sister Bhuvana Santhanam, the book covers Bhagawan’s travels across a number of countries between June and December 2018.
The first speaker for the morning, was Sri C Sreenivas, Chairman of the Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust. Sri Sreenivas beautifully expressed his gratitude to Bhagawan for all He has taught and done, saying, “Bhagawan is constantly at work teaching us that pursuit of happiness is incessant pursuit of goodness”. Speaking about the wonders of Sai Sanjeevani, Sri Sreenivas reminded everyone that goodness can beget miracles that the world has not seen, emphasising the power of goodness.
The next speaker was Sri B N Narasimha Murthy, who expressed his gratitude to Bhagawan for allowing everyone to be at His feet at the beginning of the new year. Sri Narasimha Murthy then went on to explain and illustrate the meaning of a poignant verse from the Kathoupanishad, which describes true happiness as coming only to those wise ones who see God in everything, the eternal in the transient and the one in the many.
Bhagawan then granted His Divine message and spoke about the pure, divine principle of love. Saying that love is the only governing force in creation, Bhagawan declared that all the projects being done, are being done by love alone. He said, “It is love that cannot contain itself, that cannot restrain itself, that cannot wait to see others happy, which makes all these projects and more happen, day after day.” Exhorting everyone to develop this kind of divine love, Bhagawan reminded everyone to let Sai become more and more, with ‘I’ becoming less and less with every passing moment. He said, “Time is God and we must wisely use each moment of time bestowed on us.” Showering His New Year blessings on all students, staff and devotees both present and across the world, Bhagawan brought His Divine message to a close.
Mangala Arati was offered to Bhagawan, followed by the distribution of Prasadam to all.
