Sri Sathya Sai Vrindawith Love, at His service

Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Group of Institutions ‘Annual Sports and Cultural Meet 2018’ – January 15 2018, Evening – Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli

With adrenaline pumping through the veins of every participant and every devotee’s heart pounding with excitement due to the morning spectacular inauguration ceremony of the Sports and Cultural Meet, it was time to enjoy the subtle intricacies and nimble gestures of musical notes and dance movements.

Swami was escorted in to the Premamrutham Hall by the boys’ Vedam group from the stage-side. He glided down the stairs and interacted with devotees from both gents’ and ladies’ sides accepting letters and flowers while showering immeasurable bliss with His words and guidance to every seeking heart.

The evening function was started with the Vedic invocation by the students of SSS High School, Muddenahalli Campus, with the chanting of the Medha Suktam.

The first item of the evening was the launch of Staff Welfare Society of the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Trust for the welfare of staff members, their families, and even retired Tyagajeevis who have dedicated their lives to the Trust and also to Swami.

Swami blessed Brother Tara Shankar, an alumnus of the Brindavan Campus of Swami’s institutions and also of Mirpuri Music College, to relate the purpose and benefits of the society. Brother Tara is also appointed as the Operations Officer for Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutha Prakashna, Secretary for the Staff Welfare Society and has been serving Swami in the HR department. He shared his experiences of how Swami guided and showered His grace on him and his family and also made sure that everything was taken care of. Brother Tara literally reduced everybody to tears while recounting various touching moments of his life while himself choking to express his overflowing love towards Swami, reflecting the love that Swami has showered on him.

Then he mentioned the purpose of the Society and also the benefits that will be offered to the staff members based on the years of their service.

Swami blessed the whole team and launched the Society. A Kannada translation of the purpose and benefits of the Society was also provided.

The next presentation was a unique musical bonanza of 67 participants of 6 sections from 7 institutions of Sri Sathya Sai Group of Institutions. The students accompanied by the trainers and teachers performed on 7 instruments including Sitar, Harmonium, Violin, Guitar, Flute, Tabla, and Mridangum. The students performed various Bhajans and works of Saint Purandardasa, Tyagaraja, Apstambha Sutra and few instrumental compositions. The presentation offered the glimpse of the hard work of the trainers and also the dedication of the students as they showed much promise to become the future custodians of music and offer their talents at God’s Lotus Feet. Swami blessed every participant of the presentation giving guidance and encouragement to everyone.

The next was a unique combination of two of Swami’s institutions from two different states—Telangana and Karnataka. Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Hyderabad Campus and Sri Sathya Sai Vaniniketanam, Gadag Campus came together to offer a ballet named ‘Divine Raga’. The students performing the ballet belonged to 1-10 grades and were trained by alumni of the institute who are not professional dancers.

The ballet revolved around the theme of music—why music is one of the best ways to reach God; what kind of music is pleasing to God; what are the significance of the notes of music and how various devotees and the common folk found their God through music. Swami blessed them all by ascending the stage and showering His grace on all of them—posing for photographs and gifting Sarees to them. He also talked to their teachers, guiding and instructing them.

As the evening program approached its end, another spectacle awaited everybody as everyone present in the Hall was given a Brass Arati ladle to offer Mangala Arati to Swami—it was the reminiscent of Christmas celebrations when devotees offered their love by collectively lighting the candles as Swami gave Darshan from the Terrace of the semi-circular verandah of Prashanti Mandir.

Swami blessed everybody profusely and thus the first day of the Sports and Cultural Meet came to a close.
